Thailand's economy grew 2.8 percent in the first quarter from a year earlier, official data showed Monday, despite the global economic turmoil caused by the Middle East war. The GDP growth from January to March was due to spending and production, the National Economic and Social Development Council's (NESDC) secretary general Danucha Pichayanan told reporters.
