Brent Tops $100 Per Barrel as US-Iran Strikes Drive Up Oil Prices

MOSCOW, May 8 (RIA Novosti) - Global oil prices climbed more than 1% on Friday morning following a fire exchange between Iran and the United States, with Brent trading above $100 per barrel, trading data showed. As of 05:12 GMT, July futures for Brent crude rose 1.34% from the previous close to $101​​​.4 per barrel, while June futures for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) gained 1.09% to trade at $95.84.
