Germany's Rheinmetall begins production of drone boats

Hamburg (dpa) - The German defence contractor Rheinmetall has begun series production of unmanned surface vessels at the Port of Hamburg, the company said on Monday. Initially, around 200 drone boats are to be manufactured annually at the Blohm+Voss shipyard, Rheinmetall said, adding that production could be ramped up to 1,000 units per year.
