German rare earths imports on the rise

Frankfurt (dpa) - German industry imported more rare earths last year than in 2024, although a smaller proportion came from China, the Federal Statistical Office reported on Tuesday. Imports of the sought-after metals rose by 4.9% to 5,500 tonnes but China's share fell by just over 10 percentage points to 55.4%, the statisticians said.
