The US State Department said it had summoned Iraq's ambassador on Thursday to condemn the "egregious terrorist attacks" by Iran-backed armed groups on American interests in Iraq. The United States "will not tolerate attacks on US interests and expects the Iraqi government to immediately take all measures to dismantle the Iran-aligned militia groups in Iraq," spokesman Tommy Pigott said in a statement.
