Berlin (dpa) - The German government is looking to restart direct talks with Tehran following the ceasefire agreement struck between the US and Iran, Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Thursday. "After a long silence, for which there were serious reasons on our part, we as the federal government are now resuming talks with Tehran," Merz said in Berlin, adding that the move was being coordinated with the US and Germany's European partners.
