Mercedes-Benz sales down by 6% in Q1 on ailing China business

Stuttgart (dpa) - Sales for German carmaker Mercedes-Benz dropped by 6% in the first quarter on dwindling business in China, the company said on Thursday. Mercedes sold 499,700 passenger cars and vans between January and March, with car sales also declining by 6% to 419,400. This was mainly due to poor car sales in China, which were down by 27% "amid model-cycle effects, macroeconomic uncertainties and challenging market conditions," Mercedes sai......
