An American challenger has been confirmed for the 2027 America's Cup in Naples, which had been set to be the first edition of sailing's premier event not to feature a boat from the US. The USA first won the trophy in 1851 and successfully defended it for 132 years, widely agreed to be the longest winning streak in sporting history.
