An Israeli strike hit a Lebanese army checkpoint in the country's south on Monday, a Lebanese military official said, in the first direct attack on a military post since the start of the Israel-Hezbollah war. The official, who requested anonymity, said at least five soldiers were wounded. Since the start of the war on March 2, the military has mourned eight soldiers killed by Israeli fire in southern and eastern Lebanon while off duty. at/nad/ser......
