Raising Defense Spending to 5% to Increase EU's Dependence on US - Spanish Prime Minister

MOSCOW, March 11 (RIA Novosti) - If European countries increase their defense spending to 5% of their GDP, it would strengthen their dependence on the US defense industry, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said. "We also strongly opposed the 5% of GDP target for defense. Why? Because it would not strengthen or reinforce the European defense industry, but rather make us much more dependent on the industry of the US," Sanchez said in an intervie......
