Woolworth opens 1,000th European store in Germany

Essen, Germany (dpa) - Discount retailer Woolworth is continuing its expansion with the company now opening its 1,000th store in Europe in the German city of Essen. Woolworth has a total of around 850 stores in Germany. Locations have existed in Poland and Austria since 2023, and in the Czech Republic and Slovakia since 2025.
