US court gives initial OK to Bayer's glyphosate class settlement

Berlin/New York (dpa) - Bayer has received preliminary approval from a US court for a deal to bring its glyphosate lawsuits under control, the German pharmaceutical company said on Wednesday. The group announced a class settlement with plaintiffs in mid-February after tens of thousands of people in the US attributed cancer to glyphosate, which was an ingredient in weedkiller Roundup. Bayer has repeatedly said that the use of glyphosate is safe.......
