Myanmar grants amnesty to prisoners on Peasants' Day

YANGON, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's National Defense and Security Council pardoned over 10,000 prisoners and withdrew charges against thousands of individuals on Monday, the Southeast Asian country's Peasants' Day. According to the amnesty order, the council granted amnesty to 2,825 domestic prisoners and 10 foreign prisoners on Peasants' Day.
