Italian golfer Andrea Pavan says he faces a lengthy recovery following surgery on his back and shoulder after falling down a lift shaft before this week's South African Open in Stellenbosch. The freak accident occurred on Wednesday when Pavan reportedly tumbled down multiple floors after the lift door at his private accommodation opened but the car itself wasn't there.
