German Armed Forces hired some 3,000 under-17 year olds

Berlin (dpa) - The German Armed Forces, or Bundeswehr, said on Friday that they hired 3,131 minors last year, amounting to some 13 of every 100 new recruits. The information came in a response to a query from The Left party in parliament and was first reported by Der Spiegel magazine. The response showed that 2,690 young men and 441 young women were aged 17 at the start of service, which equates to 12.5% of all new soldiers. A total of 638 undera......
