Jamaican sprinter Elaine Thompson-Herah, a five-time Olympic champion, competed in her first race since June 2024 in Saturday's Camperdown Classic at Kingston, Jamaica. Thompson-Herah, who won back-to-back Olympic titles at 100 and 200 meters in 2016 at Rio and five years later in Tokyo, was third at 60 meters in 7.24 seconds (-1.7 m/s wind).
