German electronics makers buoyed by year-end spike in orders

Frankfurt (dpa) - Orders were up 17.1% year-on-year in Germany's electrical and digital industry in December, fuelling optimism for growth in 2026, a trade group said on Monday. The rise in orders was driven equally by domestic and foreign demand, said Andreas Gontermann, chief economist at the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI).
