Afghan police arrest 2 for illegally cutting down trees

KABUL, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Police have arrested two individuals for illegally cutting down trees and engaging in deforestation in the northern Afghanistan Faryab province, provincial police spokesman Mawlawi Abdullah Muradi said Thursday. The suspects were engaged in deforestation in Ferdos area on Wednesday when police found and took them into custody, according to the official.
