German government approves major railway infrastructure projects

Berlin (dpa) - Germany's Transport Ministry has secured government funding for several railway infrastructure projects. Lines and junctions are to be expanded and noise protection improved in Berlin and the eastern states of Brandenburg, Saxony and Thuringia. Around ?339 million ($405 million) will be invested in regions in Brandenburg that are particularly affected by the phase-out of coal. Additional tracks for freight transport are to be buil......
