Sugar futures close lower

ZHENGZHOU, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Sugar futures closed lower Tuesday in daytime trading on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE). The most active sugar contract for May 2026 delivery lost 7 yuan (1.00 U.S. dollars) to close at 5,168 yuan per tonne. On Tuesday, the total trading volume for six listed sugar futures contracts on the ZCE was 248,799.0 lots with a turnover of 12.86 billion yuan.
