Libyan dinar hits decade-low on parallel market amid political, economic tensions

TRIPOLI, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Libyan dinar tumbled to a decade-low against the U.S. dollar on the parallel market on Monday amid mounting economic uncertainty and rising tensions between parliament and the country's top financial officials. The dollar was trading above 9 dinars in major cities, including Tripoli, Benghazi, and Misrata, according to local traders and figures published by Al-Sada Economic newspaper.
