Alcohol cheapest in Italy and Germany across EU, figures show

Frankfurt (dpa) - Prices for alcoholic beverages in Germany were 14% below the EU-wide average in October, according to official figures released on Monday. Across the bloc, wine, beer and spirits were only cheaper in Italy, were prices were 19% below the EU average, Germany's federal statistical office said in a statement.
