BEIJING, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- The following are the indices of major stock markets worldwide on Wednesday. IN THE UNITED STATES The S&P 500 Index opened at 6,904.91 points, down 4.88 points, or 0.07 percent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened at 48,424.71 points, down 17.70 points, or 0.04 percent.
