Vietnam's golden population period to end in 2036: statistics office

HANOI, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's golden population period is expected to end in 2036, giving way to an era of population aging and super-aging, according to a population forecast released by the National Statistics Office on Tuesday. The golden population period is defined as a stage in which every two people of working age, ranging from 15 to 64, support one dependent person aged under 15 or aged 65 and above, the office said.
