Guangdong carbon market closes higher

GUANGZHOU, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Carbon emissions allowances closed at 39.5 yuan (about 5.6 U.S. dollars) per tonne on Friday, 6.13 percent up from the last transaction day at Guangzhou Emissions Exchange, the largest local carbon market in China. A total of 1,154 tonnes of allowances were transacted on Friday with a turnover of 43,925.47 yuan.
