Germany's Muslim community to clean up after New Year in sign to Merz

Berlin (dpa) - Members of Germany's Muslim community will take part in a nationwide clean-up campaign following New Year's celebrations, Berlin's Imam Sharjeel Khalid told dpa on Thursday. The initiative is expected to mobilize about 10,000 young Muslims armed with brooms and refuse sacks to collect remnants of fireworks, bottles and cans in roughly 240 towns and cities across Germany.
