Philippines' unemployment rate rises to 5 pct in October

MANILA, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- The Philippines' unemployment rate climbed to 5 percent in October 2025, up from 3.8 percent in September, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) data released on Wednesday. PSA Chief Claire Dennis Mapa said in a press conference that about 2.54 million Filipinos were out of work in October, a sharp increase from 1.96 million in the previous month.
