Singapore reports rise in domestic violence cases in 2024

SINGAPORE, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Singapore recorded an increase in domestic violence cases in 2024, the Ministry of Social and Family Development said Wednesday as it released the Domestic Violence Trends Report 2025. From 2023 to 2024, the number of new low- to moderate-risk cases overseen by community agencies rose by about 14 percent, driven mainly by increases in child abuse and spousal abuse cases, the ministry said.
