Commerzbank to pay millions in compensation for penalty charges

Frankfurt (dpa) - Penalty interest imposed on customers of Commerzbank until a few years ago may carry costly consequences for the German lender after two crucial court rulings, media reported on Friday. According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, compensation for some 40,000 affected customers amounts to around ?10 million ($11.6 million).
