China wins highest vote to secure 19th consecutive term as IMO Category A council member

LONDON, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- The 34th session of the Assembly of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) held its election for the new Council here on Friday. China was elected as a Category A Council member with the highest number of votes, marking the 19th consecutive time it has secured the seat. A total of 169 member states were eligible to vote.
