Maldivian president announces major rise in defense investment for 2026

COLOMBO, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu on Monday announced a substantial increase in defense spending and infrastructure investment from the 2026 budget. Muizzu made the announcement during a Victory Day ceremony, according to the Maldivian state media PSM News.
