Tanzania's military chief said Thursday protesters who took to the streets during the country's elections were "criminals", as the authorities sought to stamp out unrest triggered by the polls, in which the main opposition candidates were prevented from running. "Dear Tanzanians, you all remember that some people went to the streets on October 29 and committed criminal acts. These are criminals. And the criminal acts should be stopped immediately......
