Snow covers nearly 50 pct of Mongolia's territory

ULAN BATOR, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Nearly 50 percent of Mongolia's land is now blanketed in snow, the country's National Agency for Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring reported on Thursday. "As of Oct.20, at least 46 percent of the country's total territory has been covered with snow of up to 30 cm thick, increasing a high risk of experiencing the extreme wintry weather "dzud" this winter," the weather monitoring agency said in a statement.......
