Strong winds damage nearly 100 houses in Sri Lanka's northwestern province

COLOMBO, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Nearly 100 houses were damaged in Sri Lanka's northwestern province due to strong winds triggered by the prevailing adverse weather conditions, a senior Disaster Management Center (DMC) officer said on Saturday. DMC media spokesman Pradeep Kodippili said they are taking necessary measures to assist residents impacted by the situation.
