Japan's forex reserves rise for 2nd month

TOKYO, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Japan's foreign exchange reserves rose for the second consecutive month in September, boosted by higher gold prices and a rebound in the market value of U.S. Treasury holdings, the Finance Ministry said on Tuesday. The reserves stood at 1.3412 trillion U.S. dollars at the end of September, up 17 billion dollars, or 1.3 percent, from the previous month.
