Gold Price Nears All-Time High of $4,000 Amid US Government Shutdown

MOSCOW, October 6 (RIA Novosti) - Gold prices surged nearly 2% on Monday, approaching a new all-time high of $4,000 per troy ounce, trading data showed. As of 14:38 GMT, US gold futures for December delivery on New York's Comex exchange were up $66.6, or 1​​​.7%, to $3,975.5 per troy ounce, after reaching a record high of $3,979.8 earlier in the trading session.
