All-time high as almost 1 million open cases with German prosecutors

Frankfurt (dpa) - The number of open cases at public prosecutors' offices in Germany has risen to an all-time high of almost 1 million. According to the Federal Statistical Office, the figure grew by 3% to 950,900 at the end of 2024.   Last year, around 5.49 million new criminal investigations were received, which was 1.4% fewer than in the previous year.
