Pentagon Awards $1.1Bln Contract to 25 Companies for Nuclear Submarine Modernization

MOSCOW, September 3 (RIA Novosti) - The US Navy’s Naval Sea Systems Command issued a combined $1.1 billion contract to 25 companies for the repair and maintenance of nuclear-powered attack submarines, the Department of Defense said. The base value of the multi-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract is $1,123,590,000, according to the statement released on Tuesday​​​.
