Barcelona goalkeeper Pena joins Elche on loan

MADRID, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona has loaned goalkeeper Inaki Pena to newly promoted Elche in a move aimed at freeing space to register Wojciech Szczesny, Gerard Martin and Roony Bardghji in its first-team squad. Pena, who signed a new contract before departing, will spend the season at Elche. The deal is part of Barcelona's financial maneuvering to comply with La Liga's wage-cap regulations.
