West Ham have bid turned down for Southampton's Mateus Fernandes

London (PA Media/dpa) - West Ham have seen a bid of up to £30 million ($40.5 million) for Mateus Fernandes rejected out of hand by Southampton, the PA news agency understands. The 21-year-old was a shining light in a season to forget as the relegated Saints narrowly avoided the Premier League's record low points tally. Fernandes joined Southampton from Sporting Lisbon last August in a deal until 2029 and won the fans' player of the season award.......
