German race walker suffered from depression after Olympic medal

Leipzig (dpa) - German race walker Jonathan Hilbert has said he suffered from depression in the wake of his Olympic silver medal 2021 in Tokyo, but that he has recovered after seeking professional help. Hilbert told broadcasters MDR he fell into a mental hole after his biggest career success in Japan which came in the 50 kilometres race.
