Modernization of German Airbase for US's F-35s Jets to Cost More Than Expected - Reports

MOSCOW, July 25 (RIA Novosti) - The modernization of Germany's Buechel airbase, where US F-35 fighter jets will be deployed in a few years, will cost 649 million euros ($760 million) more than initially expected, partly due to stricter US requirements, the NTV channel reported on Friday, citing a confidential document submitted to the parliament.  Initially, the project was estimated at about 700 million euros.
