Italy May Release Over 10,000 Prisoners by September 2025 – Justice Ministry

MOSCOW, July 16 (RIA Novosti) - The Italian Justice Ministry said on Wednesday that it was considering alternative punishments to imprisonment for 10,000 inmates to address prison overcrowding. Italian Justice Minister Carlo Nordio determined that 10,105 prisoners with final sentences of less than 24 months left are potentially eligible for alternative measures, such as house arrest or probation, provided their crimes were not severe and they hav......
