Bangladesh's forex reserves surge with record remittance, IMF loan

DHAKA, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Propelled by record remittance inflows and a fresh International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan, Bangladesh's foreign exchange reserves surpassed 26 billion U.S. dollars by June, the latest central bank data showed. The country's foreign exchange reserves stood at 26.71 billion dollars on June 30 (according to the IMF calculation method), compared with 20.57 billion dollars at the end of May.
