Samsung Electronics' preliminary operating profit more than halves in Q2

SEOUL, July 8 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's tech giant Samsung Electronics saw its second-quarter preliminary operating profit more than halve from a year earlier, the company said Tuesday. The preliminary operating profit tumbled 55.94 percent to 4.6 trillion won (3.4 billion U.S. dollars) in the April-June quarter compared to the same quarter of last year.
