Tübingen, Germany (dpa) - The pool of stem cell donors in Germany is in decline as a result of demographic changes, putting treatment for leukemia under pressure, the head of the German Bone Marrow Donor File (DKMS) has told dpa. Stem cell donors in Germany must be aged between 18 and 61. With many now no longer able to donate, the database is struggling to recruit enough new contributors to fill the gaps.
