Beijing, May 7, 2025 (AFP) - China says to cut amount banks hold in reserve to boost economy

China said Wednesday it would cut a key interest rate and lower the amount banks must hold in reserve in order to boost lending, as officials look to kickstart the economy that has been hit by low consumption and the effects of a trade war with the United States. "The reserve requirement ratio will be cut by 0.5 percentage points," China's central bank chief Pan Gongsheng told a news conference, while it also lowered its seven-day reverse repurch......
