The US Federal Reserve's preferred inflation measure cooled last month ahead of the introduction of President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs on top trading partners, according to government data published Wednesday. The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index rose 2.3 percent in the 12 months to March, the Commerce Department said in a statement, a decline from a revised 2.7-percent rise in February.
