Namibia inaugurates Africa’s first zero-emission iron plant

ARANDIS, 12 APR (NAMPA) – Namibia on Friday inaugurated Africa and the world’s first zero-emission iron production facility, the HyIron Oshivela Plant, in Arandis.
With an initial capacity of 15 000 tonnes of direct reduced iron per year, the plant is set to scale up to one million tonnes annually, potentially preventing 1,8 million tonnes of carbon emissions each year.
