Ransomware attack targets local telecommunications operator

WINDHOEK, 16 DEC (NAMPA) – Namibia's Communications Regulatory Authority (CRAN) has confirmed a ransomware attack on a local telecommunications operator, exposing critical infrastructure and consumer data to cyber threats.
Its Chief Executive Officer and Head of the Namibia Cyber Security Incident Response Team (NAM-CSIRT) Emilia Nghikembua in a media statement on Sunday said the attack was detected on 11 December 2024, with credible threat intel...
